Update: It seems like using the latest gfortran esp. made for snow-leopard is doing the trick. You may find it on hpc.sourceforge.net. In case somebody has some smart optimizer flags, please share them.
One problem though: caspt2/vcutil.f doesn't compile right now (internal compiler error). In case I don't find a solution myself, I will submit a bug-report without a suggestion how to fix it.
